High-sensitivity shortwave infrared photodetectors of metal-organic frameworks integrated on 2D layered materials

Photodetectors operating in the shortwave infrared region are of great significance due to their extensive applications both commercial and military fields. Narrowbandgap two-dimensional layered materials (2DLMs) considered as promising candidates for constructing next-generation high-performance photodetectors. Nevertheless, performance 2DLMs-based photodetectors can hardly satisfy requirements practical weak optical absorption. In present study, a strategy was proposed design by integrating metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) nanoparticles with excellent absorption characteristics 2DLM high mobility. Further, this study demonstrated practicability MOF/2DLM (Ni-CAT-1/Bi2Se3) hybrid heterojunction photodetector. Due transfer photo-generated carriers from MOF Bi2Se3, integrated on Bi2Se3 layer increase photocurrent 2–3 orders magnitude. The resulting photodetector presented responsivity 4725 AW−1 superior detectivity 3.5 × 1013 Jones at 1500 nm. outstanding arises synergistic function enhanced photogating effect. addition, device construction combining photosensitive 2DLMs shows potential future
